Kayleigh Cannon Breaks School Record at Miami Invitational

Cannon became the first Miami female to break the two-minute mark in the 200 fly.
OXFORD, Ohio – The RedHawks wrapped up competition at the Miami Invitational and the U.S. Open on Saturday. Kayleigh Cannon broke the school record in the 200 fly (1:59.68), becoming the first female swimmer in program history to complete the event in under two minutes.
The Miami women won four events on the day. Izzy Herb picked up the first event win, being the only swimmer in the 200 back (1:59.52) to break two minutes.
Camila Lins de Mello won the 100 free (49.65), beating the field by 1.43 seconds, for her second individual event win of the weekend.
Ryan Sego tied his lifetime best in the 200 fly (1:49.56), finishing second overall.
In the 400 free relay, the RedHawks won the women's competition (3:24.13) and finished second among the men (3:01.89). Both the Miami men (1:31.59) and women (1:42.94) also finished second in the 200 medley relay.
In the 200 breast, Anna Martin finished third (2:19.32) for the women and Sam Curran finished fifth (2:04.32) for the men.
Nic Wamsley touched the wall third in the 100 free (44.72).
In the 1650 free, Emma Bradley finished fourth on the women's side (17:04.26) while Brandon Crist finished fourth on the men's side (16:05.80).
Fitz Miller finished fifth in the 200 back (1:52.87).
