Miami came out attacking in the second half, attempted 10 shots and placing six on frame. The Red and White started with three shots on frame in the first eight minutes of the period and pressured throughout the second half.
The Red & White nearly got on the board in the 69th minute when the ball was worked just outside the top of the 18 for
Jordan King to blast a shot that beat Adrianna Brewer, but rang off the crossbar and stayed out.
As the half wore on, UT got a fortuitous break in the 75th minute when a cross into the box caromed off two players, the last of which was Anita Mancini and it redirected straight into the net to put MU into a 1-0 hole.
Miami continued to press for offense, firing four more shots and getting three of those on target, but Brewer kept all of the bids out to secure the shutout.
