Miami Hosts Double Dual Meet Saturday

OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami University swimming and diving team hosts a double dual meet this Saturday. The RedHawks will compete against both Michigan State and Cincinnati at 1 p.m.
The Miami women fell to the defending MAC Champion Akron Zips last weekend by a 186-114 margin. The RedHawks won five events, led by sophomore Camila Lins de Mello, who won the 100 free, 200 free and 200 IM. Lins de Mello was named MAC Swimmer of the Week for her performance against Akron. Emma Bradley won the 1000 free and Kayleigh Cannon won the 200 fly.
The Cincinnati men's team won its first meet of the season by a 166.5-133.5 margin against the University of Indianapolis last weekend after finishing 5-2 in dual meets last season. The Bearcat men won the AAC Championship for the second-straight season.
The Cincinnati women's team was edged out by a 142-158 margin against the University of Indianapolis in its first meet of the season last weekend. In 2018-19, the Bearcat women also finished 5-2 in dual meets en route to a runner-up finish at the conference championships.
The Michigan State men's team began the season with a loss at Iowa by a 112-180 margin last weekend. Last season, the Spartan men went 3-4 in dual meets and finished 10th at the Big Ten Championships.
The Michigan State women's team split its double dual meet last weekend, beating Northern Iowa 180-102 and falling to Iowa 113-183. In 2018-19, the Spartan women finished 2-7 in dual meets and 12th at the conference championships.
