UK's Jim Green Invitational will take place from Jan. 11-12.
OXFORD, Ohio - Following a long holiday break, the Miami University track and field team will return for their second indoor event of the season this Friday and Saturday at the University of Kentucky's Jim Green Invitational.
The RedHawk women kicked off the season with a quick warm-up meet at the Bowling Green Opener on December 1st. At BGSU, Junior Olivia Bechtel headlined the day by winning the 300 meter dash with a 39.53 mark. Bechtel was also part of a 4 x 400 team that took second along with Kalliopi Kountouri, Sonia Slusarczyk, and Mallory Harr, while Kountouri finished second in the individual 400 meter. Over on the field, senior Emily Fletchall won an all-Miami pole vault finals, clearing a height of 3.35 meters.
The Red and White will be one of 20 teams in attendance. The field includes several power-conference teams in the likes of Indiana, Ohio State, and the host Wildcats and some familiar Mid-American Conference and local foes in Akron, Ball State, Cincinnati, and Xavier.
The meet will kick off with a small slate on Friday, with the women's high jump, weight throw, and distance medley relay. Saturday will then feature a full schedule of events, which can be found below.
