Brindtha Ramasamy earns her first Miami win over nationally-ranked opponent.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - A huge win from Miami freshman Brindtha Ramasamy at first singles wasn't enough as the RedHawks fell to the Louisville Cardinals Sunday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Miami falls to 0-2 on the young season while the Cardinals improve to 2-0.
Miami put out the same doubles teams as Friday's match against Kentucky, but despite close contests from the teams of Lysova/Kalita and Struble/Devi, the Cardinals would sweep the doubles session and claim the match's first point.
Moving over to singles, Louisville would pick up quick wins on courts two, four, and six to clinch the match. Despite the outcome being decided, the RedHawks would still pick up a big point at the top of the lineup when Ramasamy earned her first collegiate victory. The Toronto native scored a 6-4, 6-3 takedown of Louisville senior Aleksandra Mally, a nationally-ranked opponent currently sitting inside the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's top 125 ranking. This would be all the RedHawks could muster, however, as the Cardinals won the two remaining matches the close out the contest with a 6-1 scoreline.

Miami continues its road swing next weekend where the Red and White will visit Harvard Friday and Boston University Saturday. The 'Hawks first home match is Feb. 8 against James Madison.
