
Women's Team Gains Ground

ATHENS, Ohio - The Miami University women's swimming and diving team is currently in fourth with 344 points with one day of competition remaining at the 2018 MAC Championships.
The women competed in the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, 100 back, 3-mtr dive consolations and the 400 medley relay.
In the 400 IM, Miami recorded three top-10 finishes. Carolyn Jungers was sixth (4:20.62), with Holly Schuster right behind her in seventh (4:21.16) and Hannah Fuchs rounding out the top-10 finishers (4:21.79).
Peyton Mosbaugh touched the wall in sixth in the 100 fly (54.97) while Kayleigh Cannon was eighth (55.19).
Ella Moynihan won her second event of the MAC Championships - the 200 free (1:46.03). Molly Zilch finished 12th (1:50.59).
The RedHawks were strong in the 100 breast with four athletes qualifying for the final heats. Elise Campbell swam the top Miami time (1:02.00), earning fifth place with Schuster right behind her (1:02.52) in sixth and Macey Neubauer (1:02.92) and Anna Justinak (1:03.26) finishing 10th and 12th, respectively.
Izzy Herb finished fourth overall in the 100 back (54.36) and Abby Stone took 10th (56.27).
Herb, Campbell, Mosbaugh and Moynihan earned third place in the 400 medley relay (3:41.28).
On Saturday, competition concludes with the 1650 free, 200 back, 100 free, 200 breast, 3-mtr dive finals, 200 fly and the 400 free relay. Championship Awards will also be presented on Saturday.
