MIDLAND, Mich. – Looking for one more big score before heading off to nationals in two weeks, the Miami collegiate synchronized skating team achieved just that at the Tri-State Championships on Saturday.
The RedHawks erupted for a season-high score of 83.47 to top the field and claim the competition. That outing bests the group’s 81.94 back at the Dr. Porter Classic in December. It is the second time this season Miami has cleared the 80 point threshold with its score.
Additionally, by topping Western Michigan (71.34) and Michigan State (69.00), the collegiate team picks up its second first-place team finish of the season.
The Red & White will perform next Sunday for their nationals sendoff in front of the fans at Goggin Ice Center at 3:15 p.m.
