Miami adds the 2016 Sabres’ draft pick to the mix for next season.
OXFORD, Ohio – The Miami Hockey Brotherhood has announced its first addition of the NCAA signing period.
Joining the RedHawks for the 2019-20 campaign is forward Brett Murray. A 6-5 forward from Bolton, Ontario, Murray is currently skating for the USHL's Youngstown Phantoms, where he is leading the team in scoring with 20 points (9g, 11a) in 20 games. Murray, a fourth-round pick (99th overall) of the Buffalo Sabres in 2016, possesses 33 games of collegiate experience with Penn State after joining the Nittany Lions midway through the 2016-17 season. He'll come to Oxford with two more seasons of eligibility.
New legislation with the signing period is now in effect where previously November featured an early signing period for a week. Under the current rules, the signing period that opened on Wednesday remains open until Aug. 1.
