BERLIN - The Miami University Senior Synchronized Skating team finished its weekend at the Cup of Berlin with a season best performance.
The RedHawks put on their free skate and posted a score of 106.37, giving them a two-day total score of 162.32. That score was good for a bronze medal in the final standings, behind the Skyliners (180.74) and Team Berlin (165.28). Both the free skate and composite scores represent season highs for the Red & White.
"We're slowly, but surely moving in the right direction," head coach Carla DeGirolamo said. "We've got a lot of fight to fight and we're going to keep reaching for our goals. I thought both were our most competitive skates of the season. We were solid and consistent, we just need to kick it up a little bit, but we put together a strong showing overall."
The RedHawks are back in action next weekend when the collegiate squad heads to Synchro Illinois (Jan. 12-13). Miami's senior team will next perform during an intermission at the Miami hockey home series against Western Michigan (Feb. 2-3) while its next meet is the US Synchronized Skating Championships (Feb. 22-24).
