Ringo had a strong performance against the Big Ten's Ohio State in Miami's only game on Saturday. He finished with a team-high 16 points, and also facilitated the RedHawk offense with eight assists. Ringo brought in five rebounds and showed his defensive prowess with four steals in 34 minutes of action. This is the first time this season and in his career that Ringo has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week.
Dickerson came up big when Miami needed it most on Saturday in the team's MAC opener against NIU. The Indianapolis, Ind. native played a season-low 29 minutes due to foul trouble but found a way to make her impact, scoring 11 of her 18 points in the fourth quarter to lead the RedHawks to a 67-65 victory over the Huskies. She also chipped in three rebounds, four assists and three steals. Most importantly, she was 4-of-4 at the line, the latter two makes coming with just three seconds left in the game to put Miami ahead for good.
This is the third time this season and eighth time in her career that Dickerson has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it for the week of Dec. 4-10.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Jan. 8.
