BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Miami University track & field saw even more personal bests Saturday in the conclusion of the Gladstein Invitational.
"When our main focus is the conference meet at the end of February, when we can open up with PRs or anywhere close to our PRs, it is a good thing," said Director of Track & Field/Cross Country Tom Chorny.
"I can comfortably say our team is getting better," said Assistant Head Coach Russ Peterson. "Personally, I had a coaching PR."
Starting off the morning was Rachel Kotchman, who placed second in the 800m. Already holder of the best 800 time on the team, she topped her mark again with a PR of 2:17.84. After a short break, she joined Claire Linn, Christina Nash, and Alesha Vovk to take fourth in the 4x800m. They posted a 9:33.67.

One of the RedHawk runners competing in their second day of action was Emily Hooker. Hooker, who PR'd in the 400m on Friday, took fourth in the 200m Saturday afternoon. She recorded a 25.31. Also racing in Hooker's section was Arissa Freeman, who ran a 25.89.

In the fast section of the 200m, sophomore Olivia Bechtel turned in an indoor personal-best 24.99. The mark surpasses the 25.18 she recorded in the event as a freshman at last year's Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships.
That's a PR for @obechtel6!

On the men's side, Jeremiah Hunter also competed for the second straight day. He followed up his second-place finish in Friday's 60m with a third-place showing in Saturday's 200m.
"He will be a force to be reckoned with this year," Chorny said of the sophomore, who is preparing to return to the MAC Outdoor Championships after running in both the 100m and 200m as a freshman last spring.
The men's 4x400m team consisting of Ivan Dye, Aaron Muresan, Jake Owens, and Josh Prell grabbed fourth with a 3:22.40.
"Ending the meet with strong relays on both sides - men's and women's - only helps build momentum heading into next week," Peterson said.

One of the PRs turned in by field athletes came in the long jump. Hannah Falcione, after taking sixth in Friday's triple jump, set a personal best in the long jump with a 16-9.25. Kenny Glenn highlighted the men's field competitors, finishing seventh in the long jump with a 22-4.5.
The 'Hawks return home for just a few days before heading right back to Bloomington next week. They will compete in the Indiana Relays on Feb. 26-27.
