OXFORD, Ohio - On Friday, June 2, Miami Sports Medicine will continue its long-running tradition of its annual golf outing fundraiser to support the Mr. Gale Newton Internship Fund. Your registration will include range balls, greens and cart fees for 18 holes at Hueston Woods Golf Course, lunch, a T-shirt, BBQ dinner following golf, beverages, and a chance to win Miami prizes.
Miami University Sports Medicine provides young professionals in the field of athletic training an opportunity to obtain work experience in Division I athletics with our intern positions. It is a great opportunity to provide them with experience while also improving the amount of care and attention that our student athletes receive.
In order to have these internships, Miami Sports Medicine needed to start a fund to support them, and wanted to honor its history by naming it after someone vital to where the department is today. The Mr. Gale Newton Internship Fund is named after Gale Newton, who provided 29+ years of service to Miami as Head Athletic Trainer.
We have single golfer, foursome, and young alumni registrations available, as well as hole sponsorships, if people are unable to attend. Please register by May 24 in order to assure your spot with us. Contact Chris Elmore (ElmoreCJ@MiamiOH.edu) with any questions. We look forward to seeing you June 2 for a day of golf, fun and healthy competition!
