Miami Divers Look to Qualify for NCAA Championships

OXFORD, Ohio ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" Miami University divers Pei Lin, Harrison Moncino and Sean Sargent will look to qualify for the NCAA one- and three- meter diving championships this weekend at the Zone C diving meet.
The men look to advance for the first time in their careers and Lin will look to qualify for a third straight year.
Lin will compete in the three-meter on Thursday at 1 p.m. and the one-meter on Friday at 1 p.m. Moncino and Sargent will compete at the same time, but with the one-meter Thursday and the three-meter on Friday.
Lin is coming off another successful Mid-American Conference championship meet, where she won both events and was named MAC Diver of the Year for a third, consecutive season.
Moncino was 11th in the three-meter dive and 12th in the one-meter dive at the MAC Championships Sargent placed seventh in the one-meter dive and 14th in the three-meter.
For the women, there will be eight auto-qualifiers in the one-meter dive and nine in the three-meter dive. On the men's side, there will be five auto-qualifiers in the one-meter and seven in the three-meter. Once a diver posts an auto-qualifying finish in an event, he or she only has to be among the top 12 to earn the NCAAs berth in the other events.
