Men's Basketball
Last Week: Miami (11-20 overall, 4-14 MAC) completed the regular season with a split of its final two games on the road. The RedHawks saw themselves down 15 on the road with 11:01 to go against Mid-American Regular Season Champion Akron, but an aggressive attack led by freshman guard Michael Weathers and some timely three-pointers from redshirt sophomore guard Jake Wright led the RedHawks to the 79-75 come-from-behind victory on Tuesday. (RECAP) Miami dropped its regular season finale to Ohio, 69-55, in a physical battle on Friday. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks begin play as the 12th seed in the MAC Tournament with a First Round game at fifth seeded Western Michigan on Monday. Tip time is at 7:30 p.m. Miami needs to win to continue its season, but with a victory, the 'Hawks will travel to Cleveland and Quicken Loans Arena for a MAC Quarterfinal game against fourth seeded Ball State Thursday at approximately 2:30 p.m. Miami could also participate in the MAC Semifinals on Friday and the MAC Championship game on Saturday.
Softball
Last Week: Miami (7-11) had an up-and-down weekend in the San Diego Classic, its final road tournament of the season On Friday, the RedHawks dropped a 9-0 five-inning result to Oregon State as OSU pitcher Taylor Cotton pitched a no-hitter. In the second game of the doubleheader, a fifth-inning rally helped BYU top Miami, 6-2. (RECAP) On Saturday, the RedHawks offense exploded for a program-record seven home runs in a 14-4 six-inning victory over San Jose State. In the nightcap, junior third baseman Kat Lee hit her third homer of the day, but a pair of offensive flurries hurt Miami in a 10-4 loss to hosting San Diego State. (RECAP) In the Sunday morning finale against Boston University, the Miami offense only mustered two hits through the first five innings, but a furious nine-run rally in the sixth inning sealed a comeback victory. (RECAP) The surge was capped off by a three-run homer by sophomore shortstop Michaela Schlattman, her third of the weekend. In an outstanding offensive performance, Lee batted .429 with six hits, nine RBIs and a 1.143 slugging percentage. This Week: The RedHawks open their home season with a doubleheader against Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
Hockey
Last Week: The RedHawks (9-18-7, 5-14-5-3 NCHC) closed out their regular season against defending national champion North Dakota at Steve 'Coach' Cady Arena. On Friday, Kiefer Sherwood got things started on the right foot with a goal 7:38 in, but UND answered before intermission. Gordie Green then made it a 2-1 game with 9:21 left in the second before the Fighting Hawks again tied it and took their first lead on a shorthanded goal late in the frame. North Dakota held on for the 3-2 win while outshooting Miami 41-16 (RECAP). Saturday night saw Miami play a scoreless first period before falling behind early in the second before Kiefer Sherwood answered with a power play goal at the 5:19 mark of the middle frame. Tucker Poolman scored with 4:24 left until intermission to put MU down 2-1. Another UND goal made it 3-1 4:18 into the third, but Chaz Switzer's first collegiate goal with 11:12 left gave MU some life before Poolman struck again 35 seconds later to quell the comeback bid in an eventual 5-2 UND win (RECAP). This Week: Miami enters the NCHC Tournament as the No. 7 seed and begins its postseason with a road best-of-three series against second-seeded Minnesota Duluth on Friday night.
Men's Golf
Last Week: The RedHawks were idle. This Week: Miami travels to Bluffton, South Carolina for the Colleton River Collegiate. The Red and White will play two rounds on Monday and one final round of 18 holes on Tuesday.
Women's Tennis
Last Week: Miami University's tennis team spent its weekend in Huntington, W. Va. where they dropped two matches against Marshall and Winthrop University, setting its season record back, 3-7. Saturday's match resulted in a loss for the RedHawks, 5-2, against the Winthrop Eagles. The Eagle sweep of the doubles competition was stopped by senior Andreea Badileanu and sophomore Emily Struble at No. 3 after they defeated Alya Mourad and Aida Kelic, (6-4). Singles finished in a disappointing fashion with RedHawks claiming wins at No. 3 and No. 4, respectively. Badileanu defeated Caitlin Cridland in a three-set match (2-6, 6-3, 6-4). Struble beat out Megan Kauffman in straight sets, (6-3, 6-4). The RedHawks returned on Sunday to face off with Marshall University where they ultimately fell, 5-2. Miami was unable to clinch the doubles point after losses at all flights. Miami tallied two points in singles, once again thanks to Badileanu and Struble. Badileanu garnered a point for Miami after she downed her opponent, Maddie Silver. The Russian-native claimed the first set, (6-3), but fell in the next, (4-6). She returned to claim the match in the third set, (6-0). Struble defeated her opponent, Rachael Morales in straight sets, but not without earning it in two tiebreakers (7-6 (7-4), 7-6 (7-3) (RECAP). This Week: Miami has off until Wed. March 15, where they will face off with the University of Dayton back in Oxford, Ohio.
Baseball
Last Week: The RedHawks (3-7) opened their brand new turf field with a weekend sweep over Illinois State. On Saturday, Miami used four-spots in the second and third innings to inch past the Redbirds, 8-7. Steve Sada led the way at the plate by going 3-for-4 with one run scored and two runs driven in (RECAP). Sunday saw the two teams play a doubleheader. In game one, the RedHawks led the whole way and held strong down the stretch to collect an 8-6 victory. Tyler Harris went 3-for-4 at the dish with two runs, four RBI, a home run and a double. Miami completed the series sweep in game two on Sunday, cruising to a 9-4 triumph over the Redbirds. Dallas Hall, Adam Yacek, Ross Haffey and Carlos Texidor posted multi-hit efforts in the win (RECAP). This Week: Miami faces a tough test this coming weekend as it makes its way to Kentucky for a three-game series against the Wildcats. The weekend gets underway on Friday with a 4 p.m. first pitch.

The RedHawks were unable to contain a hot-shooting Golden Flashes squad as MU fell, 78-51. In the defeat, Lauren Dickerson broke the freshman single-season record for most field goals made, crushing a 37-year-old rmark previously held by Deb Grushon (RECAP). The RedHawks capped off the regular season with a big win over Bowling Green on the road. Lauren Dickerson and Leah Purvis posted 24 and 22-point efforts, respectively, for Miami as it topped the Falcons, 75-65, on Saturday. The victory gave Miami the No. 9 seed in the upcoming MAC Tournament (RECAP). This Week: The Red & White begin their run at the MAC Tournament on the road at No. 8 Western Michigan on Monday. The game is set to tip at 5:30 p.m. and will air live on ESPN3.

Last Week: Miami University's men's swimming and diving team ended the Mid-American Conference competition in fourth place, with a score of 518.5 (RECAP) This Week: Up next for the RedHawks is the NCAA Zone Diving Championships in Bloomington, Ind. on Thursday, March 9 through Saturday, March 11.
