Day Two of MAC Championships Concluded

CARBONDALE, Ill. ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" Miami University men's swimming and diving team is currently in fourth place in the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships after day two with 217.5 points.
The team of Lucas Brock, Nick Ward, Hutch Blackstone and Jack Strauss won the 200-yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 1:20.49. They edged out Buffalo by 0.41 seconds and earned 40 team points.
Miami had four men place in the top eight in the 50-yard freestyle. Brock (20:38), Strauss (20:52), Blackstone (20:76) and Ward (20:79) finished third, fourth, sixth and seventh, respectively. Ross Westrick placed in the B-Final, coming in 15th overall with a time of 21.16.
Iago Moussalem do Amaral placed fifth in the 500-yard freestyle, clocking in at 4:27.27, earning 14 points for the RedHawks. Bryan McNamara swam in the B-Final of the race, finishing 13th overall with a time of 4:31.12.
Justin Andrews was seventh in the 200-yard IM, touching the wall in 1:49.19. Nicholas Wukovits finished 11th (1:49.39) and Ross Rybakowicz placed 15th (1:50.44). The trio earned 20 points for the Red & White.
As for diving, Sean Sargent placed seventh with 277.00 points. Harrison Moncino finished in 12th (276.80) and Ryan Nash finished 13th (271.40). Prelims will start tomorrow at 11 a.m. and finals at 7 p.m.
The events that will be run tomorrow are the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, three-meter dive and 400-yard medley relay.
