Hutton remained on an offensive roll with a pair of goals at Minnesota Duluth as the sophomore blue liner has scored in three-straight games. Hutton dished out a goal and an assist in the second period of Thursday's series opener with the Bulldogs to help the RedHawks erase a 2-0 deficit before intermission. He then scored the go ahead goal in the second period of Friday's finale, giving MU its first lead of the series. Hutton now has nine goals this season after not scoring once as a freshman. His nine goals are the most by a Miami blue liner since Alec Martinez netted nine in the 2007-08 campaign.
This is the first time this season and in his career that Hutton has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week.
Lin won both the one and three meter dives at the Mid-American Conference Championships, claiming each title for the third-straight season. Her one-meter score of 332.1 was over 40 points ahead of the runner-up while her 401.35 in the three-meter dive was 95.75 ahead of second place. For her performance, Lin was tabbed MAC Diver of the Year for the third year running.
This is the second time this season and sixth time in her career that Lin has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it for the week of Jan. 16-22.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, March 6.
