RedHawk Women Take Fourth Place at MAC Championships

OXFORD, Ohio -- The Miami University women's swimming and diving meet ended the Mid-American Conference competition in fourth place, with a score of 560.
Pei Lin won the three-meter dive for the third straight year with a score of 401.35. Her score was 95.75 points higher than the second-place finisher.
Stephanie LeMire finished her career with a third-place finish in the 200-yard breaststroke, timing in at 2:13.79. Holly Schuster placed fifth in the event, touching the wall in 2:14.39. Elise Campbell took 12th with a time of 2:17.87.
Emma Bradley took fourth in the 1650-yard freestyle, clocking in at 16:37.18. Shay Spelman (16:48.88); Julia Campbell (16:56.77) and Claire Doerr (17:09.11) finished seventh, ninth and 14th, respectively.
Izzy Herb was sixth in the 200-yard backstroke, touching the wall in 1:58.06. Brittany Dudzinski, Carolyn Jungers and Katie Kuhl all competed in the B-Final of the event. Dudzinski finished ninth (1:59.72) with Jungers in 11th (2:01.16) and Kuhl in 14th (2:02.90).
Grace Van Fossen and Ella Moynihan placed in the B-Final of the 100-yard freestyle. Van Fossen placed tenth overall, clocking in at 50.22. Moynihan was behind her in 11th place, touching the wall in 50.36.
Morgan Quesnel was the lone RedHawk to swim the 200-yard butterfly, where she placed 12th (2:04.01) and earned five points.
At the end of the night, the team of Grace Van Fossen, Ella Moynihan, Stephanie LeMire and Abby Stone earned third place in the 400-yard freestyle relay, clocking in at 3:21.06. Their time is a new Miami school record, breaking the previous record of 3:21.53, set at the 2009 MAC Championships.
Schuster, Herb and Bradley made the All-MAC Second Team for Miami, while LeMire, Lin and Moynihan made the 1st team. Lin also took home the Diver of the Year award for the third year in a row. Herb was named the Freshman Swimmer of the Year as well.
Next up for Miami is the MAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championships from Wednesday, March 1 to Saturday, March 4. The meet is in Carbondale, Ill. and is hosted by Southern Illinois.
