Day Two of MAC Championships Concluded

OXFORD, Ohio ÃÆ'Æ'¢ÃÆ'¢'¬" Miami University women's swimming and diving team is currently in fourth place in the 2017 Mid-American Conference Championships after day two.
Ella Moynihan won the 500-yard freestyle relay for the RedHawks, clocking in at 4:46.65. Her time broke the Miami school record, replacing Stephanie Pearce's 4:48.82 time at the 2014 MAC Championships.
Emma Bradley and Claire Doerr also placed in the top eight in the event. Bradley touched the wall in fourth place (4:50.40) and Doerr clocked in seventh (4:53.47).
Shay Spelman and Julia Campbell competed in the B-Finals of the 500-yard freestyle. Spelman clocked in at 4:55.00, earning 12th place. Julia Campbell placed 16th by touching the wall in 4:59.15.
Pei Lin won the one-meter dive for the third year in a row at the MAC Championships, earning a score of 332.10. Taylor LeCount came in seventh for the RedHawks, earning 241.55 points. Jenna Karrow won the B-Finals for Miami, finishing in ninth overall with score of 272.65.
In the 200-yard IM, Stephanie LeMire led the charge for the Red & White, placing fourth with a time of 2:01.52. Carolyn Jungers came in 11th (2:02.68) and Abby Stone placed 15th (2:04.67).
At the end of the night, the team of Elise Campbell, Ella Moynihan, Grace Van Fossen and Abby Stone placed third in the 200-yard freestyle relay. The quad clocked in at 1:32.62 and narrowly beat out three other teams by .20 seconds or less.
Prelims will start tomorrow at 11 a.m. and finals at 7 p.m.
The events that will be run tomorrow are the 400-yard IM, 100-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke, 100-yard backstroke, three-meter dive and 400-yard medley relay.
The cost of attendance will be $12 for a single session or $34 for the entire championship for adults. Youth (17 and under) tickets run for $6 per session or $16 for an all-sessions pass, while MAC students with a valid ID and children five and under will be given free admission. Doors will open to the public one hour prior to the first event of each session.
