Women's Basketball
Last Week: Miami (3-3 overall) opened a 2-1 week at home against Valparaiso on Tuesday. Five RedHawks scored in double figures, led by Lauren Dickerson's 26 points, as MU topped the Crusaders, 77-68 (Recap). The Red & White hit the road for the holiday, heading to the Loyola Marymount Thanksgiving Classic in Los Angeles, Calif. The team opened with host LMU on Friday. The 'Hawks led the whole first half but a 51-point second half from the Lions was enough to hand Miami a 84-71 defeat (Recap). The Red & White rebounded the following day to topple Denver, 69-52. Los Angeles native Leah Purvis led the charge with 17 points while Dickerson flirted with a triple-double by going for 14 points, nine assists and seven rebounds (Recap). This Week: Miami is off until Sunday when it hosts Canisius at 2 p.m. It will be Dayton Day at Millett Hall, in honor of head coach Megan Duffy and assistant coach Frank Goldsberry, both of whom are products of Dayton. Men's Basketball
Last Week: The RedHawks (3-3 overall) dropped a pair of games on the road last week. Freshman guard Nike Sibande had a breakout performance, scoring a career-high 21 points on Wednesday, but Tulane was able to pull away in the second half to take an 80-59 victory over the Miami. (Recap) A hot shooting performance by Austin Peay and too many turnovers for the RedHawks resulted in an 86-61 loss on Sunday afternoon. (Recap) This Week: A pair of games await Miami this week. It starts on Wednesday when the 'Hawks return home to host Midway inside Millett Hall. Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m. and it will air live on ESPN3. Miami then begins another road trip when it travels to Western Illinois for an 8 p.m. (EST) tip on Saturday.
Hockey
Last Week: The RedHawks (6-6-2) headed up I-75 for a weekend series with in-state rival and former CCHA foe Bowling Green on the road. Six MU players recorded multiple points while holding BGSU to a mere 14 shots on goal in Friday night's opener as Grant Hutton scored twice in 37 seconds to snap a 3-3 tie late in the second period of an eventual 6-3 victory (Recap). A late first period goal by the Falcons put the RedHawks behind in the series finale, but they got a goal from Josh Melnick in the second to tie it up and Louie Belpedio gave the Red & White a 2-1 lead late in the third to put them in position for a sweep. However, BGSU struck with 37.8 seconds left to forge an eventual 2-2 tie (Recap). This Week: Miami wraps up its non-conference slate by hosting Cornell in a series at Steve 'Coach' Cady Arena on Friday (7:35 p.m.) and Saturday (7:05 p.m.).
Volleyball
Last Week: Miami was idle last week. This Week: The RedHawks were assigned to the Waco Regional for NCAA Tournament action. They will take on the 12th-seed and host Baylor Bears on Friday at 8 p.m. (EST).
