OXFORD, Ohio - The RedHawk women's basketball team fell to Cincinnati, 73-62, on Saturday afternoon in a back-and-forth battle with the Bearcats at Saint Ursula Academy. Miami trailed by just two at the midway point, but sporadic scoring droughts in the second half were to much to overcome as UC came away with the win.
"Cincinnati did a great job of making timely three-pointers down the stretch," said head coach Megan Duffy. "The combination of those shots and a few too many fouls leading to free throws hurt us. I was impressed with Savannah [Kluesner] and Lauren's [Dickerson] efficiency throughout the game.
"We look forward to getting back on the court versus Valparaiso on Tuesday."
Savannah Kluesner led the charge for the RedHawks with 17 points off of the bench, while Lauren Dickerson and Leah Purvis chipped in 14 and 11 points, respectively. The RedHawks shot 50 percent (24-of-48) from the floor, including 46.7 percent (7-of-15) from the three-point line. Five Bearcats scored in double figures, led by Ana Owens' 14 points.
