ANAHEIM, Calif. – In its second competition of the season, Miami’s senior synchronized skating team came up with a solid performance at the Anaheim Ice Fall Synchronized Classic on Sunday.
The RedHawks began the day with a clean performance of their short program. Their score of 60.64 represented more than a nine-point improvement from their season-opening performance at last weekend’s Diamond Classic. It placed second among the four senior teams competing as the Skyliners took the competition with a 64.59.
Later in the day, Miami returned to the ice for its free skate. While there was a slight bobble during a lift sequence, MU avoided any deductions and posted a score of 98.47, over two points higher than its season-opening output. That score also finished second to the Skyliners’ 106.96.
Fans can get a look at both Miami’s senior and collegiate programs during intermission performances at Miami’s hockey games on Friday and Saturday, respectively. The RedHawks are back in competition at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic Dec. 1-3.
