Hockey
Last Week: The RedHawks (3-3) hosted their first ever series with Connecticut over the weekend and notched their first series sweep of the season in the process. Miami opened the series on Friday by netting three goals in the first 9:07 with Scott Dornbrock leading the attack by netting a goal and an assist. MU held UConn to 19 shots on goal, all of which Ryan Larkin stopped for his second career shutout in a 3-0 win (Recap). Goals by Kiefer Sherwood and Gordie Green staked Miami to a 2-0 first period lead on Saturday, though a shorthanded goal by UConn cut the score to 2-1 after 40 minutes of play. At that point, the RedHawks erupted for five third-period goals as Louie Belpedio (2g, 1a) and Green (1g, 2a) finished with three points apiece in a sweep-clinching 7-1 victory (Recap). This Week: The RedHawks open conference play at home with a pair of games against Colorado College on Friday (7:35 p.m.) and Saturday (7:05 p.m.0
Field Hockey
Last Week: Miami (9-8, 6-0 MAC) dominated Ball State 7-1 in its regular season finale. The RedHawks finish MAC play undefeated for the first time in program history, making the team outright MAC champions for the first time since 1981. Junior midfielder/forward Paula led Miami's scoring efforts with two goals and six points total, matching her career high for points on the season. Freshman midfielder Leonor Berlie notched two goals. Senior midfielder/forward Henni Otten, sophomore midfielder Lexi Silver and sophomore forward Gabby Luxardo all scored goals for the RedHawks. Junior back/midfielder Ashley Laskowitz recorded an assist. This was Luxardo's first collegiate goal. Miami outshot Ball State 17-4 during the game. (Recap). Next Week: The RedHawks travel to the MAC Tournament at Kent State on Friday, Nov. 3 and Saturday, Nov. 4. The RedHawks enter the tournament as the top seed and will play Appalachian State in a semifinal game on Friday. The winners of the semifinal games will advance to the championship on Saturday.
Soccer
Last Week: Miami (2-15-1, 2-8-1 MAC) saw its season come to an end, but battled valiantly against a Ball State team that finished second in the MAC regular season standings. The Cardinals struck in the 17th minute, but the RedHawks created several chances throughout the match. Unfortunately, MU was unable to convert on any of the opportunities in a 1-0 defeat (Recap).

Swimming and Diving
Last Week: The Miami women (0-2, 0-1 MAC) were edged out by Akron 156-144. Miami recorded a first-place finish in seven of the 16 events. The RedHawks had a solid showing in the freestyle events. Sophomore Emma Bradley finished first in the 1000 Free (10:04.22) and the 500 Free (4:56.50). Junior Ella Moynihan finished first in the 200 Free (1:49.51) and second (4:57.24) in the 500 Free. Red-shirted senior Elise Campbell finished first in the 100 Free (51.07). Red-shirted senior Pei Lin swept the diving contests. Lin finished first in the three-meter dive (370.20) and the one-meter dive (305.18). Lin finished 114.82 ahead of second place in the three-meter dive and 54.83 ahead of second place in the one-meter dive. Freshman Maddie Folta finished second in the three-meter dive (255.38). Senior Holly Schuster finished first in the 100 Breast (1:02.71). (Recap). Next Week: The Miami women host Bowling Green on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 1 p.m.

Last Week: Miami (17-8 overall, 9-3 MAC) concluded its four-match road trip with a split. In a battle similar to their first meeting, the Miami went back-and-forth over several long rallies against Bowling Green on Thursday. This time the RedHawks came up a little short as they fell, 1-3 (25-22, 17-25, 24-26, 21-25). (Recap) Miami got back on the winning track with a complete team effort in a 3-0 (25-15, 27-25, 25-18) win over Northern Illinois on Saturday. (Recap) This Week: The final two home matches of the regular season will happen this week. On Friday, the RedHawks welcome Kent State to Millett Hall for a 7 p.m. match. On Saturday, Ohio comes to town for a 5 p.m. first serve. Prior to that match, the seniors will be honored in a ceremony.

This Week: With the season opening on Nov. 10, the RedHawks will host Maryville for their only exhibition contest on Sunday at 2 p.m. Admission is free.

This Week: The Red & White host Central State on Thursday at 7 p.m. in an exhibition contest. Admission to the game is free. Miami opens up its regular season at home on Friday Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. against Detroit Mercy.
