Golf Holds Seven Shot Lead After Two Rounds at Dayton

KETTERING, Ohio - The Miami University golf team is in the lead after two rounds of the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Monday. The RedHawks shot a morning round of 284 and an afternoon round of 285, putting the team at one-over par. They hold a seven shot lead over Ohio State, which is in second at eight-over par.
Senior Patrick Flavin leads Miami individually after shooting rounds of 71 and 69. Flavin is currently in third place at two-under par. He is only one shot behind co-leaders Beau Breault of Eastern Michigan and Will Grimmer of Ohio State, each of whom are three-under par. Freshman Jack Herceg sits right behind Flavin in fourth place after shooting rounds of 69 and 72. He is currently at one-under par and two shots out of the lead.
Sophomore Cam Solomon is tied for sixth place after shooting two rounds of 72, putting him at two-over par. Freshman Charlie Nikitas shot rounds of 72 and 75, putting him at five-over par. Nikitas is currently tied with five other golfers for 20th in the standings. Not far behind Nikitas is redshirt junior Brian Ohr, who shot rounds of 76 and 72 to put him at six-over par. Ohr finds himself in a group of five other golfers tied for 26th.
Competing as an individual, freshman Jack Mortell is tied for 49th after shooting rounds of 77 and 76. He is in a group of four other golfers who sit at 11-over par.
Miami looks for its first team tournament title of the season as it completes play with the final round of the Dayton Flyer Invitational on Tuesday.
