OXFORD, Ohio -- For their performances last week redshirt freshman golfer Brian Ohr and junior track and field shot put thrower Arionna Darling are Miami's Athletes of the Week for the week of April 25-May 1.
Ohr had a career best performance at the MAC Tournament, finishing tied for fifth at four-over par. He shot rounds of 74-68-74-72. The three-under par 68 in the second round was a new career low by four strokes. It was Ohr's first career top-10 finish. For his performance, Ohr earned a spot on the MAC All-Tournament Team.
This is the first time this season and in his career that Ohr has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week.
Darling won the shot put at the RedHawk Invitational with a mark of 48-7.5. She now ranks second in the MAC in shot put, as well as 19th regionally and 51st nationally.
This is the third time this season and in her career that Darling has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it for the week of March 21-27
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced Monday, May 9.
