Golf in 4th After Two Rounds at MAC Championships

SYLVANIA, Ohio - The Miami University golf team sits in fourth place after posting a team score of 29-over 594 through two rounds of the 2016 MAC Championships on Thursday. Their 19-over par first round of 303 had them tied for seventh place at midday. They answered back with a 10-over second round of 294 to finish day one.
Redshirt freshman Brian Ohr has taken the lead for the Red and White, finishing the day in third place at even-par. He tallied a three-over first round of 74 before firing a career-low, three-under round of 68 to cap off the day. Ohr leads the RedHawks in par-4 scoring (4.05), par-5 scoring (4.83), and birdies (9).
Senior Jack Sparling is tied for 15th place at eight-over after shooting a four-over 75 in both rounds on the opening day. Sparling is on the leaderboard for most pars with 22. Sophomore Patrick Flavin is not far behind Sparling, sitting tied for 17th place at nine-over par. Flavin tallied a four-over round of 75 to begin the day and ended with a five-over round of 76. Flavin leads the RedHawks in par-3 scoring with a 3.00 average.
Junior Greg Conrad is tied for 36th at 16-over par after turning in two eight-over rounds of 79 on the first day of competition. Senior Daniel Schwarz rounds out the lineup at 17-over and in 41st place. Schwarz had a 13-over round of 84 but answered back with a four-over round 75.
