- The Knights of Columbus line, consisting of Sean Kuraly (1g, 1a), Kiefer Sherwood (1g) and Jack Roslovic (1a), combined for four points on the night. Sherwood's tally midway through the second stance proved to be the game-winner. Collectively, they also earned a +5 rating.
- Josh Melnick opened the scoring on the Red & White side of things Saturday evening, his eight goal of the season. The freshman now has 18 points (8g, 10a) on the season.
- Melnick's goal was assisted by blue liners Grant Hutton and Louie Belpedio. The assist was their third and 13th point of the season, respectively. Miami defensemen have now contributed 40 points (11g, 29a) on the year.
- Justin Greenberg picked up his seventh point of the season after his assist led to Kuraly's go-ahead goal in the first half of the second period. The junior has one goal and six assists on the season.
- A first period deficit has not spelled good things for the Red & White the majority of this season. Coming into Saturday's tilt, the RedHawks were just 1-8-0 when trailing after the opening frame. They earned their second such victory Saturday.
- Miami's penalty kill continues to be other-worldly, earning three more kills in as many chances Saturday. The `Hawks allowed just four shots in those three chances.
- Jay Williams stopped 21 of 23 SCSU shots to earn his sixth victory on the year.
- With three goals Saturday, Miami has now scored three or more times in five of their last six contests.
