NOTRE DAME, Ind. - A select squad from the Miami track and field men's distance group got their final tune-up in before the outdoor season at the Alex Wilson Invitational on Saturday.
Andrew Dusing and Stephen Biebelhausen took on a strong field in the mile and returned personal-best performances. Dusing clocked in 4:06.51 to knock five seconds off his previous best and finish eighth. Biebelhausen posted a time of 4:15.80 to take a second off his previous best and place 17th on the day. Biebelhausen's time locks him at the 15th place on the conference performance list.
At 3000m, Joe Stewart and Zack McBride took third and fourth in 8:15.22 and 8:15.44 respectively. This gives them the seventh and eighth fastest times in the conference. McBride improved his personal best by 16 seconds from his mark set at the Meyo Invitational earlier this season. Stewart's time gave him a one second improvement on his personal best at 3000m in his first race of the season.
The RedHawk women will return to action next weekend at the Mid-American Conference Championships. The men will kick off outdoor action April 1 at home with the Miami Duels at the George Rider Track.
