Junior right side hitter Olivia Rusek led the RedHawks with 13 kills (RECAP). This Week: Miami's 2016 season is complete.
Football
This Week: The RedHawks accepted a bid to play in the St. Petersburg Bowl versus Mississippi State on Dec. 26 (RECAP)
Men's Basketball
Last Week: The RedHawks (4-4 overall) split a pair of games this past week. Miami `Weathered' a storm to erase a 15-point second half deficit in a 78-76 overtime win over Grambling State on Wednesday night. (RECAP) The RedHawks could not overcome a hot shooting Fort Wayne on Saturday as the Mastodons took an 87-71 victory. (RECAP) This Week: Miami travels to Missouri on Tuesday at 8 p.m. for a game that can be seen live on SEC Network+. The RedHawks then return home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. to take on IUPUI as part of a doubleheader that will see the MU women's team take on Northwood at 1 p.m. It is part of the Give Back tripleheader that also includes the hockey game at 7:05 p.m.
Hockey
Last Week: In action for the first time since Nov. 19, the RedHawks (3-8-4) dropped a pair of one-goal decisions at Cornell over the weekend. On Friday night, Carson Meyer made his return felt by scoring less than six minutes in to give MU a 1-0 lead after 20 minutes. Grant Hutton added some breathing room with 5:02 left in the second period, but the Big Red added a goal to cut the lead to 2-1 at the end of the second. CU netted three goals in the third to grab a 4-2 lead, but Karch Bachman pulled the Red and White within one on his first career goal with three minutes remaining, but that was as close as they got in a 4-3 setback (RECAP). Things did not get started well on Saturday as Miami trailed 2-0 after two periods. Meyer added his second goal of the weekend three minutes into the third as Miami fired 11 of its 25 shots on goal in the final regulation period, but could not erase the deficit in a 2-1 defeat (RECAP). This Week: Miami resumes NCHC play when it hosts Colorado College at Steve 'Coach' Cady Arena as part of Give Back at Goggin. Friday night's game will involve a Teddy Bear Toss and begin at 7:35 p.m.
Women's Basketball
Last week: The Miami University women's basketball team played just one game this past week, a Saturday afternoon contest against Indiana State in Millett Hall. The RedHawks took a 37-32 lead into the half, but a cold spell offensively in the third quarter was too much to overcome as they fell to the Sycamores, 62-54. MU pulled to within in three in the waning minutes but ISU sealed the game at the free throw line (RECAP). This Week: The Red & White remain at home for another week to play host to IUPUI on Wednesday at 7 p.m. and Northwood on Saturday at 1 p.m. Wednesday's contest is the team's Ugly Sweater game, where fans are encouraged their best (or worst) ugly sweater. Saturday's game against Northwood is the Give Back game, which also extends to the men's basketball game at 3:30 p.m. and the hockey game at 7:05 p.m.
Synchronized Skating

On Friday, the junior and senior teams skated their short programs, both in the senior division. The senior team grabbed second place, while the junior team finished in seventh (RECAP). On Saturday, the same two squads went out and performed their free skate programs, and ended up earning the same finish as Friday when the scores were totaled (RECAP). The collegiate team closed out the weekend on Sunday by capturing a runner-up finish in the free skate program for the Open Collegiate division (RECAP) This Week: Following their sharp weekend at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic, the senior team will make their way to the John Gallo Ice Arena in Bourne, Mass. for the 22nd Annual Cape Cod Synchronized Skating Classic.
