Larkin had an amazing weekend in net as he backstopped the RedHawks to a pair of ties at No. 1 Denver. The freshman was peppered early in both contests, stopping all 18 shots he faced in the first period on Friday night when he finished with 38 saves overall in a 1-1 tie. On Saturday, Larkin recorded the most saves by a Miami goalie since the 2009-10 season when he turned away 49 Pioneer attempts, including 21 of 22 in the first period, in an eventual 2-2 tie.
This is the first time this season and in his career that Larkin has been named Miami's Male Athlete of the Week.
Hill was strong in two matches at the MAC Tournament over the weekend. She had 23 kills, averaging 3.29 kills per set. Hill made only one attack error in 41 attempts for an incredible .537 hitting percentage. She also finished with five blocks (one solo and four assisted) an average of 0.71 blocks per set. In the MAC semifinal win against Bowling Green, Hill led the RedHawks with 15 kills and a .583 attack percentage. She followed that up with eight more kills in the MAC Championship match against Northern Illinois.
This is the second straight week and sixth time in her career that Hill has been named Miami's Female Athlete of the Week.
The next Miami Athletes of the Week will be announced on Monday, Nov. 28.
