TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - Maria Scavuzzo's strong season - in which she was Miami's top finisher in every race - culminated in her first career appearance at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Saturday.

Scavuzzo took 209th in Saturday's race. The junior turned in a time of 21:37.7, finishing just under two minutes behind the race's champion. Missouri's Karissa Schweizer, also a junior, took home the individual title with a time of 19:41.6. Oregon won the team title with a total score of 125.

The junior will now prepare for the indoor track season, which begins Friday, December 9th, when the 'Hawks participate in the Oiler Opener at the University of Findlay.
