Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (23-5 overall, 15-1 MAC) earned a share of their first Mid-American Conference regular season championship since 1998 with a pair of straight set victories this weekend. The RedHawks got back on the winning track as it cruised to a 3-0 (25-17, 25-10, 25-20) victory over Akron Friday evening. (RECAP) Miami closed out an amazing regular season with a dominating 3-0 (25-12, 25-16, 25-16) victory over Buffalo on Senior Day Saturday. (RECAP) This Week: Miami is the top seed in the MAC Tournament that begins Thursday in DeKalb, Illinois. The RedHawks received a double-bye until the semifinals on Saturday, where they will take on either four seed Bowling Green, five seed Ball State or eight seed Western Michigan at 6 p.m. (EST). With a victory, Miami will play in the MAC Championship match on Sunday at 6 p.m. (EST)
Football
Last Week: Miami won its fifth straight contest with a 35-24 win at Buffalo last Saturday. In the win, Miami rushed for 204 yards and De'Andre Montgomery scored a pair of defensive touchdowns. (RECAP) This Week: Miami returns to action on Tuesday, Nov. 22 when they host Ball State at 7 p.m.
Men's Basketball
Last Week: Miami (1-0 overall) had a successful home opener as it began the season with an 84-57 win over Muskingum. Freshman guard Michael Weathers had a spectacular debut game, finishing with 21 points and seven rebounds (RECAP) This Week: A very busy week with four games on tap for the RedHawks. First, Miami travels to Wright State on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. tip. The Red and White then host the Tarkett Sports Classic in Millett Hall over the weekend. Miami will take on Delaware Friday at 7 p.m., Austin Peay Saturday at 3:30 p.m., and Northern Kentucky Sunday at 2 p.m. Opponents not facing Miami that day will face each other in a neutral site game prior to the `Hawks' contest. All Miami games in the Tarkett Sports Classic will air live on ESPN3.
Women's Basketball
Last Week: Miami (1-0 overall) went on the road and opened the season with a 73-58 win over Austin Peay. Sophomore guard Leah Purvis led the way with 17 points, while freshman guard Lauren Dickerson had nine points and 10 rebounds. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks remain on the road for a pair of games. On Tuesday, Miami takes the short trip to Northern Kentucky for a 7 p.m. tip. The `Hawks then travel to Morehead State Saturday for a noon game.
Hockey
Last Week: Miami (3-6-2, 0-4 NCHC) dropped a pair of home league contests to Omaha over the weekend. On Friday night, Anthony Louis hit a milestone by becoming the 51st RedHawk to reach 100 career points as he scored twice and dished out an assist to stake them to a 4-1 lead in the second period. The Mavericks struck for a shorthanded goal before intermission and ended up scoring four more times in the third to stun the Red and White with a 6-4 win (RECAP). Kiefer Sherwood connected for a pair of power play goals to erase an early 2-0 deficit in Saturday's series finale, but Omaha once again had the better of the play down the stretch, netting two goals in both the second and third period to conclude a weekend sweep with a 6-2 win (RECAP). This Week: The RedHawks continue NCHC play with a trip to Denver. Friday's series opener begins at 9:30 p.m. ET.
Cross Country
Last Week: Miami wrapped up its team competition for the fall at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, with the men's and women's teams posting identical 12th-place finishes. Maria Scavuzzo was the top finisher on both sides, finishing her 6K in 20:32.3 to take 20th in the race and became the first Miami women's runner since 2010 to qualify for the NCAA Cross Country Championship. Matt Bromley paced the men by taking 50th with a 10K time of 31:46.3 (RECAP). This Week: The cross country season has concluded for Miami.
Swimming
Last Week: Miami University's men's and women's swimming and diving teams fell to Ohio State on Saturday afternoon in Columbus. The men's team is now 2-2 and the women are 5-2. (RECAP) This Week: The Miami men and women will be off until they host the Miami Invitational Dec. 1-3.
