Volleyball
Last Week: Miami (20-4 overall, 12-0 MAC) made history by upping its win streak to a school record 19 consecutive matches. The win streak is also the longest active streak in all of NCAA Division I. The RedHawks ied a 36-year old school record with their 18th consecutive win, a 3-0 (25-20, 25-22, 25-20) victory over Bowling Green on Thursday. (RECAP) Behind a lively crowd, Miami took over the Mid-American Conference regular season lead and set a school record with its 19th victory in a row in a 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-23) win over Northern Illinois Saturday evening. (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks hit the road for the final time in the regular season this week. Miami travels to Ohio on Friday for a 7 p.m. match. The Red and White then head to Kent State Saturday for a 6 p.m. contest.
Field Hockey
Last Week: Miami (11-7 overall; 5-1 MAC) completed the regular season with a resounding 6-0 victory over Ohio on Senior Day Saturday (RECAP) This Week: The RedHawks are the second seed in the MAC Tournament this coming weekend in Kent, Ohio. Miami will take on Longwood on Friday at 2 p.m. With a victory, the RedHawks will advance to the MAC Championship game on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Women's Basketball
Last Week: The team was idle as it continued preseason practice. This Week: Miami gets ready for the 2016-17 season when it hosts Ohio Dominican for a exhibition Saturday at 2 p.m. Admission is free for this contest.
Football
Last Week: Miami downed Eastern Michigan 28-15 for its third consecutive win after beginning the season 0-6. The RedHawks rushed for a season-high 230 yards, while holding the Eagles to 33 yards rushing on 23 carries. (RECAP) This Week: Miami hosts Central Michigan on Friday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m.
Hockey
Last Week: Miami (3-2-2) wrapped up its home stand with a weekend split of Bowling Green. Anthony Louis posted two points in Friday night's 2-1 victory, assisting on Carson Meyer's goal 10 seconds into the third period to open the scoring. After BGSU tied it up late, Louis netted the game-winning goal in overtime to extend Miami's unbeaten streak to five games (RECAP). Louis opened the scoring for the Red and White on Saturday as they hunted for a series sweep, but the Falcons outshot them 41-18 and scored four unanswered goals to force a split with a 4-1 win (RECAP). This Week: The RedHawks begin NCHC play when they head to Western Michigan for a two-game series that starts on Friday night at 7 p.m.
Soccer
Last Week: The RedHawks' (8-9-2, 5-4-2 MAC) season came to an end as they dropped a pair of contests in shutout fashion. Miami drew a tough season-ending assignment at MAC champion Ball State in Thursday's season finale and got outshot 34-1 en route to a 2-0 setback (RECAP). Going on the road for the MAC Tournament, the RedHawks took on defending MAC Tournament champion Western Michigan and got fell 1-0 on an early goal in the eighth minute of play (RECAP).
Cross Country
Last Week: Miami competed in the MAC Championships over at Kent State during the weekend. The Miami men earned a second-place team finish thanks to Second-Team All-MAC performances from Matt Bromley (10th), Andrew Dusing (11th), Jake Brumfield (13th) and MAC Freshman of the Year David Coffey (14th) while the women were paced by Maria Scavuzzo's fifth-place finish and ended up taking seventh in the team standings (RECAP). This Week: Miami is idle until Nov. 11 when it heads to the Great Lakes Regional in Madison, Wis.
Swimming
Last Week: Miami University's women's swimming and diving team showed its strengths again, defeating Marshall and Mid-American Conference foe Bowling Green. The Red & White beat the Thundering Herd by a score of 188-112. Miami lost to Bowling Green last year (151-149), but got the upper hand this season, winning 217-83. (RECAP) This Week: The Miami women will compete next week as their rival, Ohio University, comes to Oxford. The meet will take place on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m.
