On the eve of Halloween, Miami fans are in for a real treat as all three Miami University synchronized skating teams will showcase their competitive programs on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Steve “Coach” Cady Arena in a Family Weekend exhibition performance at 3:15 p.m.
The RedHawk senior team performs their short program to the song “Right Amount of Wrong” by Imelda May. Their free skate program has a Samson and Delilah theme, while the collegiate team’s program has a “Femme Fatale” theme, including the songs “Trouble” by Elvis Presley, “U Wanna Little of This” by Ricki Lee, and “Trouble” by Neon Jungle.
For the junior short program, the RedHawks will skate to “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” by Miley Cyrus. The free skate program is a Santana theme, including “Oye Como Va” among others.
The RedHawks are gearing up for the 2016-17 season as the collegiate team tries for a 13th consecutive national title, while the senior team looks to again earn a spot in the ISU World Championships with a top-two finish at the national championships. Miami’s junior team looks to improve their National Standing from last year’s 8th place finish.
Admission is free to the exhibition. Fans are also asked to bring non-perishable items to donate to the Oxford Food Pantry.
