Golf Concludes Fall Season at Dayton Flyer Invitational

KETTERING, Ohio -- The Miami University golf team competed in their last tournament of the fall season on Tuesday at the Dayton Flyer Invitational. The team posted a 24- over par round of 308 in the final round. The RedHawks finished the event tied for fifth place at 40- over par, the team's best finish of the fall. University of Michigan won the tournament with a 12-over par score of 296.
Junior Patrick Flavin led the RedHawks, shooting a two-over par round of 73 on the final round to finish four-over par.. Flavin finished the tournament tied for fifth place. Just one stroke behind Flavin, redshirt sophomore Brian Ohr shot a three-over par round of 74 on the final 18 holes. Ohr finished at six-over par overall to tie for 11th place.
Senior Greg Conrad shot a seven-over par round of 78 on his final round to finish 14-over par on the tournament and tied for 54th place. Freshman Callahan Elzey tied for 73rd place after shooting a 12-over par round of 83 on Tuesday to finish 16-over par overall. Freshman Cam Solomon ended his day with a 12-over par round of 83 to finish 23-over par and tied for 104th. Playing as an individual, redshirt freshman JD Fletcher tallied an 11-over par round of 82 to finish the tournament at 22-over par.
The Red and White will begin the spring portion of their schedule when they head to Dade City, Florida for the Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play, February 13-14, 2017.
