OXFORD, Ohio -- Jude Killy has been promoted to Deputy Athletic Director at Miami University, Director of Athletics David Sayler announced today. He had served as the Senior Associate Athletic Director of External Operations for the RedHawks since 2012.
"This is a transformational time to be part of Miami Athletics, and I'm grateful to David Sayler for this opportunity to continue my growth as part of a great team," said Killy. "I take pride in supporting the development of our remarkable student-athletes and in being part of the department's commitment to Graduating Champions. From a personal standpoint, Miami is the hometown university for both my wife, Beth, and me. It's a blessing for us both to be part of this prestigious institution and to bring our children up in this same special community where we were raised."
In addition to retaining several external responsibilities, Killy will also oversee the day-to-day operations of equipment services, the business and finance office, be the sport administrator for men's basketball and remain the sport administrator of baseball.
"The athletic program here at Miami has taken a big step forward with Jude becoming our Deputy Athletic Director," said Sayler. "Jude earned this promotion through his work ethic, strong skill set and passion for what we do at Miami -- which is Graduate Champions."
Since 2012, Killy has led the search for several recent hires. That list includes an Associate Athletic Director of Development, Assistant Athletic Director of Athletic Communications, Manager for the Aspire Group, Head Men's Basketball Coach John Cooper and Head Baseball Coach Danny Hayden. During his tenure as Senior Associate A.D., Killy helped secure leadership gifts for facility projects such as the newly finished David and Anita Dauch Indoor Sport Center, the Gunlock Family Athletic Performance Center, the hockey weight room expansion and the Legacy Project at Hayden Park. Ticket revenue has also spiked under Killy's watch, with combined football, men's and women's basketball, hockey and volleyball revenue surpassing $1 million each year and hockey setting all-time season and individual game records.
As the Senior Associate A.D., Killy oversaw athletic development through the University Advancement Office while also focusing on increasing resources through ticket sales and by supervising the external units of Marketing, Sales & Promotions and Ticket Operations. He also served as the liaison to IMG, Miami's multi-media rights holder.
Killy joined Miami's staff in 2008 as the Associate A.D. and Director of Development before being promoted to Senior Director of Development in 2012.
Prior to his arrival at Miami, Killy spent 2002-07 at the University of Pittsburgh where he served as Director of Pitt's Panther Club and earlier as the Director of Athletic Development Operations. His first professional position was as assistant administrator of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) from 1998 to 2002.
A native of Oxford, Ohio and a Talawanda High School graduate, Killy earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from John Carroll University in 1995. He was a two-year member of the varsity soccer team. He obtained his master's in sports administration and facility management from Ohio University in 1998.
