Weisenburger Named to Southern League All-Star Game

PEARL, Miss. -- Former Miami University catcher Adam Weisenburger was named to The Southern League All-Star team Thursday, his second appearance in the last three years. Now with the Biloxi Shuckers, the Double-A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, Weisenburger will be on the South Division All-Star roster.
Weisenburger backstops a defense that ranks first in the league in fielding percentage. He has commited just four errors in 335 innings behind the plate and also leads the league in runners caught stealing, gunning down approximately 48 percent of attempts. In the batter's box, the Plymouth, Minnesota native has earned a .243 average to go along with 12 RBI.
Weisenburger, a three-year letterwinner, capped off his Miami career in 2011, earning a career batting average of .297 over the course of 154 game played. He hit a career-best .312 during his junior campaign, while also collecting 45 RBI, 33 runs and 20 extra-base hits. Following his career as a RedHawk, the catcher was drafted in 34th round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Milwaukee Brewers.
