Baumgartner also helped Miami score points with a third-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay and fifth-place finishes in the 400 medley relay and 200 medley relay. Baumgartner contributed to 175 points of the RedHawks’ 507 team total.

Thurman was the catalyst for Miami’s home sweep of Illinois State and No. 71 Wisconsin last weekend. Thurman took the first set 6-1 and led 5-4 in the second before Chypyha came back win. Chpyha then went on to hold a 4-1 lead in the final set. From that point on, Thurman battled back to finally take the third set in twelve games. Prior to the match, Chypyha had won ten consecutive matches. Thurman also teamed up with Hannah Shteyn to post wins at No. 2 doubles in both matches. The duo notched an 8-5 win to help secure the doubles’ point against Wisconsin and a 6-1 win to help clinch the doubles’ point against the Redbirds.
This is the first time this season and third time in her career that Thurman has been named Miami’s Female Athlete of the Week. She last won it the week of April, 21-27, 2014.
