MASON, Ohio – The RedHawks (2-13, 0-0 MAC) fell to the Musketeers (5-14, 0-0 Big East), 10-5 Tuesday in game one of their mid-week series. The relocated game was played at Prasco Park in Mason, Ohio. Chris Ticherich (0-2) took the loss for Miami.

Then, Ryan Elble hit a two-run single that scored Sada and Sedio. The Red & White left the bases loaded but came out of their half of the inning with a 2-0 lead.
Xavier responded in their half of the first inning. Like Miami, they were able to load the bases. A bases-clearing triple gave them the lead. Then, a single brought in the runner from third, putting the Musketeers up 4-2 after one inning. Xavier would strike again in the bottom of the second. A two-run double extended their lead to 6-2.
The Red & White came storming back in the top of the fifth. Honchel walked to lead it off and then Ryan Elble belted a two-run home run over the right field wall. Then, Adam Yacek scorched a double down the left field line. After a Jake Romano groundout, Brooks Urich came in to pinch hit and hit a double to score Yacek. In total. The RedHawks got three runs in the inning to cut the Xavier lead to 6-5.
Xavier responded in the bottom of the sixth with two runs of their own. An RBI single and a sac fly extended their lead to 8-5 through six innings. The Musketeers added two more in the bottom of the eighth. An RBI double and an RBI single extended the Xavier lead to 10-5 through eight.
The RedHawks could not repeat their five-run ninth inning comeback like Sunday against ETSU, falling 10-5 to Xavier.
The RedHawks return to the field tomorrow as they host Xavier for the team’s 2015 home opener. Game time is set for 6 p.m. Tyler Holliday, the team’s newest player and draftee from Team IMPACT, will throw the ceremonial first pitch.
