12/9/2015 12:00:00 AM | General
Colleen Day was a First-Team All-MAC selection and Second-Team CoSIDA Academic All-American for the RedHawk women's basketball program. A three-time captain for the Red and White from 2001-04, Day was a dominant force in the post and equally potent threat from the perimeter. She spearheaded the team to a Mid-American Conference regular-season title and National Invitational Tournament berth as a senior in 2004. Day continues to rank among Miami statistical leaders in seven career categories (rebounds, free throws, free-throw attempts, free-throw percentage, steals, double-doubles and 20-point games) and four single-season categories (rebounds, free throws, free-throw attempts and free-throw percentage). She finished her career with 1,269 points, which ranks 11th all-time at Miami. Day is going into her 10th season as an assistant coach with the Miami women's basketball program.
Day is one of seven members joining the Hall of Fame this weekend. She is joined by Damon Frierson '99 (men's basketball), Bob Gardner'78 (men's tennis), Jill Kohrs '84 (volleyball), Doug Krause '72 (football), Kirk Springs '82 (football) and Tim Winans '85 (men's swimming).
As a reminder to those planning to attend the dinner, the location was changed to the Armstrong Center to meet a high demand of attendees. More information can be found HERE.
