Miami University’s senior synchronized skating team returns to the ice this weekend when the RedHawks compete in the Colonial Classic, Jan. 10-11 in Lowell, Mass. This is Miami’s first competition since competing at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic Dec. 6-7 to open its competitive season.
The RedHawk senior team performs their short program to the song “The World is Ours”. Their free skate program is an Elvis medley to “Heartbreak Hotel”, “A Little Less Conversation”, and “Blue Suede Shoes”.
Miami is coming off a first-place finish at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic as the RedHawks notched a combined score of 163.26. Although the competition field is small with just two senior teams competing at the Colonial Classic, the event promises to showcase an exciting weekend of skating as it features two of the nation’s premiere senior-level teams.
