OXFORD, Ohio – Right-handed pitcher Ryan Powers has been named as one of the nation's top seniors in a recent list from Perfect Game, a website dedicated to covering amateur baseball.
Powers ranked 23rd on their list, putting him with some of the top players in the country. He has been placed on the list following a career year, in which he posted a 9-3 record with a 4.25 ERA and earned Second-Team All-MAC honors. In addition, Powers was one of two RedHawk players to be selected in the 2014 MLB Draft. He was selected in the 22nd round (652 overall) by the Philadelphia Phillies.
Powers has made 48 career appearances (16 starts) for the Red & White, posting a 10-7 record and striking out 91 batters in 139.2 innings. In addition, Powers posted five saves in 2013 to lead the team in that category. 13 of his 16 career starts came last season.
