Senior Surges into First at Colonial Classic

LOWELL, Mass.—A superb skate on Saturday night propelled the Miami University senior synchronized skating team into first place after the short program at the Colonial Classic.
In just its second competition of the year, Miami notched a 55.22 for its short program set to the song “The World is Ours”, improving its score from the season-opening competition by more than three points. The RedHawks hold a 3.74 advantage on the Haydenettes, who recorded a score of 51.48, heading into Sunday’s free skate event.
The RedHawks take to the ice on Sunday at approximately 1:40 p.m. with its free skate program set an Elvis medley of “Heartbreak Hotel”, “A Little Less Conversation”, and “Blue Suede Shoes”.
