Women’s Basketball
Last Week: Miami (2-4 overall) split its two games last week. Junior forward Hannah McCue scored a career-high 26 points and hit seven of the Miami women’s basketball team’s 14 three-pointers to key a dominant 82-59 over Valparaiso on Wednesday afternoon. (Recap) The RedHawks had a strong defensive effort, but a tough shooting night and too many turnovers led to a 51-41 defeat at Evansville Saturday evening. (Recap) This Week: The RedHawks are idle this week for finals. The next game comes on Monday, Dec. 15 when they host UT Martin at 7 p.m. It is a Dollar Days contest and admission is only $1 with select concession items only $2.
Hockey
Last Week: Sophomore forward Anthony Louis was one of 29 players invited to next week’s U.S. National Junior Team camp. Louis, who has 12 points on three goals and nine assists this season will head to Boston vying for one of 23 spots on Team USA for the World Junior Championships (Release). On campus, the No. 4/5 RedHawks wrapped up a four-game home stand against No. 12/13 Omaha. Six different players recorded multiple points, including a natural hat trick for Cody Murphy as MU dominated UNO to the tune of an 8-2 victory in Friday’s series opener (Recap). The Mavericks scored the first three goals of Saturday’s finale and though the RedHawks battled back to within a goal midway through the third period, their comeback fell short in a 5-2 loss (Recap). Miami enters its break tied for first place in the NCHC standings. This Week: The RedHawks are off until facing Notre Dame in the Florida College Hockey Classic on Dec. 28.
Men’s Basketball
Last Week: Miami dropped a pair of games, falling to Dayton on Wednesday, 66-62, (Recap) and dropping an 86-78 decision at IPFW on Saturday. (Recap) Junior guards Willie Moore and Eric Washington each scored 24 points in the loss to the Mastodons. This Week: After a flurry of games, Miami has the week off for final examinations before traveling to Wright State for a 5:30 p.m. game on Sunday, Dec. 14. This is a time change from what was previously published.
Synchronized Skating
Last Week: The RedHawks had a successful season-opening competition at the Dr. Richard Porter Classic. Miami’s senior and collegiate teams each finished in first place, while the junior team improved its standing on the final day to finish in sixth place. (Recap) This Week: All three teams are off until after the new year.
Men’s Swimming and Diving
Last Week: Miami finished fifth among a six-team field at the Miami Invitational. Senior Joe Baumgartner finished the weekend with two first-place finishes and two NCAA provisional times. Day 1 Recap | Day 2 Recap | Day 3 Recap This Week: Miami is off until after the new year.

Last Week: Miami enjoyed a strong showing at the Miami Invitational, winning the event among the seven-team field.
