Season Ticket Holder Information
Coming off a third Central Collegiate Hockey Association title in the last four years and entering a new era of Miami Hockey with the inaugural season of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC), Miami Athletics has announced it will be implementing a new donor-based seating model in Steve Cady Arena, effective for the 2014-15 season. The 2013-14 hockey season seating plan will remain the same as it has been in the past.
The donor-based seating model is being put in place to provide significant new and ongoing resources to help enhance and elevate Miami Hockey and Miami Athletics. Along with rewarding loyal fans and donors, the donor based seating model provides significantly more resources for both the Miami Ice Hockey team and all of Miami’s 500-plus student-athletes. Below you will find more information on the donor-based seating model:

Donor-Based Seating Model
There are three major components to the new donor based seating model for Miami University Ice Hockey:
- An annual $125 per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund for each season ticket purchased.
- Increased annual per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund for club level seating.
- Re-seating Steve Cady Arena based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank, ensuring our most loyal fans are rewarded with the highest quality seating and ticketing opportunities.
We anticipate using Red & White Club Loyalty Points for any future re-seating in Steve Cady Arena and typically consider re-seating the arena every three seasons. So, we would review seating again for the 2016-17 season.
Current Season Ticket Holders
In order to recognize our current season ticket holders for their outstanding support and loyalty, we are providing first-right of refusal on retaining current ticket and seat location arrangements in Steve Cady Arena. In addition, we are going to freeze the per-game season ticket price through the 2016-17 season (based on pricing for the 2013-14 season).
As a current season ticket holder, you can:
- Retain your current season ticket(s)
- Retain your current season ticket(s) and your current seat location(s)
- Transfer your current season ticket(s) to another individual (this is a one-time option)
- Exercise any one of the three options above or relinquish your season tickets, which will be offered to individuals on the waitlist who have the highest Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank
- For each option, additional corresponding details are provided below to help you understand how the new model will affect you:
- Season Ticket Retainer Option
You can retain your season tickets and be reseated within Steve Cady Arena based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank if you:
- Make the required annual $125 per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund anytime between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 to renew your tickets for the 2014-15 season (Reseating based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank will take place in the summer of 2014. Details on that process will be provided at a later date).
- Season Ticket and Seat Location Retainer Option
You can retain your season tickets and current season ticket locations if you: - Pay a seat-retainer fee of $500 to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund by December 31, 2013 –AND–
- Make the required annual $125 per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund anytime between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 to renew your tickets for the 2014-15 season
- One-Time Transfer Option
You have a one-time ticket transfer opportunity, with the ability to transfer your current season
ticket(s) to another person for a $1,000 per seat transfer fee, to be paid by the person receiving the transfer tickets to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund. The individual receiving your ticket(s) must:
· Pay the fee in full by June 19, 2013 to keep the current seat location and not be reseated based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank (unless otherwise requested)
· Make the required annual $125 per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund anytime between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 to renew tickets for the 2014-2015 season (this is in addition to the $1,000 per seat transfer fee)
· The season ticket transfer will be effective beginning with the 2013-2014 season. If you are interested in transferring your season tickets, please contact the Miami University Athletics Ticket Office at (513) 529-4295 or the Athletic Development Office at (513) 529-8097 if you are interested in transferring your season tickets.

4. Relinquish Season Tickets Option
If you do not wish to make the required annual contribution of $125 per seat to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund by June 30, 2014, you will not be able to retain your season tickets, but you will still be able to purchase single game hockey tickets when they go on sale to the public.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why is Miami Athletics implementing a donor based seating model in Steve Cady Arena?
We are exceptionally committed to the success of all of our student-athletes, and supporting them while continuing to elevate our championship ice hockey program requires significant new and ongoing resources.
Many universities have implemented similar programs, including most of the members of our new conference. With more than 400 season ticket holders and a waitlist of over 600, we have worked to ensure that the Miami model exemplifies a transparent and equitable system that:
· Establishes criteria for determining access to Miami Ice Hockey tickets
· Recognizes our current season ticket holders for their loyalty by providing them with the first opportunity to retain their season tickets and current seat locations
· Rewards our most loyal fans, as determined by the Red & White Club Loyalty Points Program, with the highest quality seating and ticket opportunities
· Recognizes and rewards those who make a financial investment in our student- athletes and Miami University Athletics
What do I need to do if I want to keep my season tickets, but choose to be reseated based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Ranking?
All current season ticket holders have the option to retain their season tickets and be reseated within Steve Cady Arena based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank if they make the required annual $125 per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund anytime between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 to renew your tickets for the 2014-2015 season. (Reseating based on Red & White Club Loyalty Point Rank will take place in the summer of 2014 and details on that process will be communicated in the future).
What do I need to do if I want to keep my season tickets and current seat location?
All current season ticket holders have the option to retain their season tickets and current season ticket locations if they:
1. Pay a one-time flat seat-retainer fee of $500 to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund by December 31, 2013 –AND–
2. Make the required annual $125 per seat donation to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund anytime between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014 to renew their tickets for the 2014-15 season.
Is the $500 retainer fee a per-seat donation?
No. The retainer fee is a flat $500 fee regardless of the number of season tickets you purchase.
Will I have to pay the retainer fee each year?
No. This is a one-time fee that allows you to maintain your current seat location through the 2016-2017 season.
Is the $125 a per seat donation separate from the $500 seat retainer fee?
Yes. $125 must be paid for each season ticket regardless if you select to retain your current seat location.
If I am already a Red & White Club member do I need to increase my giving for the 2014-2015 season?
That depends on current giving to the Red & White Club annually and how many hockey season tickets are purchased. For example:
- If giving $100 to the Red & White Club annually and purchasing two hockey season tickets, an increase in giving by $150 to the required $250 Red & White Club level ($125 per seat) is required.
- If giving $250 to the Red & White Club annually and purchasing two hockey season tickets, there is no need to increase giving to the Red & White Club.
- If giving $1,000 to the Red & White Club annually and purchasing two hockey season tickets, there is no need to increase giving to the Red & White Club.
All required gifts for ice hockey season tickets should be designated to the Red & White Club – Ice Hockey Seating Fund. If you make a gift above and beyond the required amount for ice hockey season tickets, you should designate the additional gift above the required amount to the Red & White Club general fund or whatever other fund you choose to support.
Does my required donation count toward my Red & White Club membership level?
Yes! All required gifts for ice hockey season tickets also count toward Red & White Club membership level and qualify members for additional benefits. Those benefits may include invitations to special events, opportunity to purchase preferred parking, opportunity to purchase tickets for postseason tournaments (NCHC, MAC, NCAA, etc.) and opportunity to purchase tickets to select premium away games. For a complete overview of Red & White Club giving level and benefits, click here.
Is my required donation tax deductible?
The Red & White Club encourages all members to consult their tax advisor, but all gifts to the Red & White Club are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
What happens if I do not pay my required annual per seat donation or pay it late?
The Miami University Athletics Ticket Office will not mail season tickets to individuals who have failed to make the required annual per seat donation. Miami University Athletics reserves the right to revoke season ticket status from all late or unpaid accounts.
What are Red & White Club Loyalty Points and how do I earn them?
The Red & White Club Loyalty Points Program is a way for Miami University Athletics to fairly assign and allocate benefits based on a donor's historical, all-around support of athletic programs. The more vested you are, or have been, as a donor and season ticket holder, the more you are rewarded with Red & White Club Loyalty Points. Red & White Club Loyalty Points are only active if you are an active member of the Red & White Club. For more information on how to earn Loyalty Points, click here.
How do I find out how many Red & White Club Loyalty Points I have and where I rank?

Single Game Tickets
As always, all fans are eligible to buy single-game tickets without any required donation once they go on sale.
