BASEBALL
Last Week: The RedHawks (13-11; 1-2 MAC) split a mid-week, home-and-home series with Xavier, dropping an 8-3 decision at Xavier on Tuesday. (RECAP) A five-run first inning propelled Miami to a 6-3 win over the Musketeers in Oxford on Wednesday. (RECAP) Miami opened its three-game weekend series at Eastern Michigan with a strong 9-1 win against the Eagles on Friday. (RECAP) EMU won the final two games of the series with a 3-1 score on Saturday (RECAP) and a 4-2 decision on Sunday. (RECAP) This Week: Miami hosts Toledo in a three-game weekend series. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.

SOFTBALL
Last Week: Miami (17-9) swept a midweek doubleheader at Butler on Thursday in its lone games of the week. The RedHawks captured the first game, 5-1, before seizing the nightcap 9-0 in five innings to extend their win streak to six straight. (RECAP) After going undefeated at its own tournament two weekends ago, Miami swept MAC honors last week. Senior pitcher Jessica Simpson and senior third baseman Daniela Torres were tabbed MAC East Division Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively. (RELEASE) Simpson also was named the MAC Female Co-Scholar-Athlete of the Week. (RELEASE) This Week: Miami hosts Wright State at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27 before opening MAC play with a doubleheader at Northern Illinois Friday and at Western Michigan for single games on Saturday and Sunday.
TENNIS
Last Week: Miami rallied from a 3-1 deficit to defeat No. 65 Akron 4-3 Friday afternoon. The win extended the RedHawks' regular-season league winning streak to 26 and avenged a loss by the same score in the MAC Championship last year. (RECAP) Miami swept through doubles play then won five of six singles matches, giving the RedHawks a 6-1 victory over Buffalo Saturday afternoon. The victory was the 27th straight during regular-season league play for the RedHawks (7-9; 2-0 MAC). (RECAP) This Week: Miami continues its road stretch at Toledo Friday and at Eastern Michigan Saturday.

MEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Last Week: Facing wet and windy conditions, Miami opened its 2012 outdoor season by picking up three wins in the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Track Complex. Junior Jack Spilman captured the 800m run title in a personal-best 1:52.02, which ranks him ninth all-time at Miami. Sophomore Jahquil Hargrove won the 400m dash in 47.83, beating out a field of 23 by over half a second. Junior Jarrod Eick claimed the 1500m run at the Black and Gold Invite for the second straight year, clocking 3:49.61. (RECAP) After a stellar showing on opening weekend of the outdoor track and field season, senior Jordan Goffena was honored by the Mid-American Conference as he was named both MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week and MAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week. (RELEASE) This Week: Miami returns to action this weekend at the Oliver Nickoloff Invitational, hosted by Cincinnati March 30-31.
WOMEN'S TRACK & FIELD
Last Week: Miami saw two school records fall Friday and Saturday at the Vanderbilt Black and Gold Invitational, held at the Vanderbilt Track Complex, while the RedHawks also won one event. Senior Kelley Miller was the runner-up in the 1500m run in a 4:24.71, breaking her own school record of 4:26.39 from 2010, and also placed second in the 800m run in 2:15.57. In field action Friday night, senior Alexandra Roberts placed third in the shot put with a heave of 51-5.75/15.69m, which broke her own school record of 49-10.5/15.20m from last year. Sophomore Tori Paterra picked up where she left off last year, winning the javelin with a throw of 141-8, her second straight year winning the event at the meet. (RECAP) This Week: Miami returns to the track this weekend at the Oliver Nickoloff Invitational, hosted by Cincinnati March 30-31.

GOLF
Last Week: Participating in two tournaments last week, the RedHawks opened the week up with a ninth-place finish at the UCF Rio Pinar Invitational. Junior Ben Peacock posted the best finish of his career, tying for fourth place at six-under par. Junior Brett Tomfohrde shot three-under for the tournament to tie for 10th place. (RECAP) For his efforts at the Rio Pinar Inviational, Peacock was tabbed the MAC Golfer of the Week. (RELEASE) Over the weekend, the RedHawks placed 13th at the FAU Spring Break Classic. (RECAP) This Week: Miami is idle until participating in The Rutherford April 7-8.
HOCKEY
Last Week: After rallying from a 3-0 deficit in the third period to level the game, second-seeded and No. 7 Miami (24-15-4) looked poised to complete a historic comeback but UMass Lowell's Riley Wetmore scored 2:13 into overtime to propel the third-seeded and No. 13 River Hawks to a 4-3 win in the NCAA East Regional Semifinals Friday night at Webster Bank Arena. (RECAP) Junior forward Reilly Smith has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Dallas Stars as Smith will forego his senior campaign to start his National Hockey League career. Smith will join the Stars for their upcoming four-game road trip, immediately being added to their NHL roster. (RELEASE) This Week: Season Concluded.
Football opens spring practice this week (RELEASE), while field hockey and volleyball both began spring competition last weekend and women's soccer gets into spring competition this weekend.
