OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University Athletic Director Brad Bates and Interim Vice President for University Advancement Brad Bundy have named Danielle Gaynor as assistant director of development for intercollegiate athletics.
Gaynor, a former field hockey scholarship student-athlete and team captain, is a 2009 Miami graduate. Since departing Miami Magna Cum Laude with degrees in Business and Sports Studies, Gaynor has added her Master's Degree in Sports Administration from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. While at UNC, Gaynor worked for the Rams Club, one of the most respected athletic development units in the country. There she was responsible for cultivating annual fund gifts, implementing the football stadium reseating plan, and running the Student Rams Club. Her primary role in the athletic development office will be to help raise annual scholarship funds for Miami University Athletics' Red & White Club, with a focus on former student-athlete and young alumni giving.
She is an active member of the Red & White Club, the official membership organization that supports Miami University Athletics' annual scholarship needs.
"We are extraordinarily pleased to welcome Danielle home," said Athletic Director Brad Bates. "She is incredibly articulate, bright and committed to student-athlete development. Her ability to share her positive student-athlete path at Miami will resonate with fans of Miami and Miami Athletics."
Gaynor joins an athletic development staff that includes Brenda Bertsch (administrative associate), Jude Killy (associate athletic director and senior director of development for intercollegiate athletics) and Garrett Munro (assistant director of development for intercollegiate athletics).
"Danielle is an important addition to our growing development staff in University Advancement," said Interim Vice President Brad Bundy. "With her on board, we believe we have an opportunity to both increase alumni engagement and enhance our fundraising opportunities in intercollegiate athletics."
Most recently, Gaynor has worked for University of Tennessee Athletics as a development assistant. While there, she was charged with soliciting new donors and season ticket holders, composing donor recruitment materials and running special events.
