Action-Packed Weekend Ahead!

This weekend, Miami Athletics will be buzzing with competition and special recognitions on the Oxford campus, and fans will not want to miss a minute of the excitement February 10-11.
Hockey gets things started on Friday evening hosting Alabama-Huntsville at 7:35 p.m. Zeta Tau Alpha will be handing out pink ribbons to promote breast cancer awareness prior to the game.
Saturday morning, Miami will induct its 43rd Hall of Fame Class of Kevyn Adams (hockey '96), Gary Cooper (baseball '73), Renee DeGraff (volleyball '84),Joe Shaw (men's swimming '64), Amanda Sokolow (field hockey '99), Tonia Stubbs (women's basketball '87) and Dustin Swinehart (men's soccer '96). (RELEASE) The Hall of Fame brunch is sold out, but the seven inductees will be further recognized at halftime of the men's basketball game with special recognitions at women's basketball and hockey for their sport inductees.
Saturday the RedHawks "Box-Out Cancer" and ask fans to wear pink to the games. Miami Athletics has partnered with the Pink Ribbon Girls, an organization founded by Miami alumna Tracie Metzger that is dedicated to connecting young women with breast cancer facing similar circumstances as an outlet to express fears and concerns.
The men's and women's basketball teams will wear special Box-Out Cancer shooting shirts prior to their games, while the hockey team will sport pink skate laces during both games of their weekend series in support of the cause.
RedHawk fans have the opportunity to show their support by purchasing an exclusive Miami Basketball "Box-Out Cancer" package for $20. It includes a ticket for the men's and women's game, a Box-Out Cancer T-shirt, and a voucher for a hot dog and soft drink. For the last time this season, Miami also is offering its McFamily and Friends ticket package. It includes four game tickets for both the men's and women's basketball games as well as four McDonald's Extra Value Meal vouchers for just $30! (RELEASE) This ticket package is not available on game day and must be purchased by 5 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10 by calling the Miami Athletic Ticket Office at 513-529-4295.
Women's basketball tips off Saturday's competitions, hosting Northern Illinois at 1 p.m. The program welcomes back members of the 1982 MAC Championship, who will be honored at halftime of the women's game, celebrating their 30th reunion.
In between the basketball games, there will be a free Carnival on the Concourse with interactive games for children. The Pink Ribbon Girls also will have a table within the carnival about their organization.
The RedHawk men's basketball team battles Central Michigan at 3:30 p.m. Former Miami great Randy Ayers is the featured member of the Fantastic Fourteen on Saturday's game ticket and will be recognized during the game. At halftime, Miami will also recognize the Hall of Fame inductees. With a RedHawk win, 150 fans will receive a free cheesy bread coupon from Domino's Pizza.
Hockey caps off the action-packed weekend, taking on Alabama-Huntsville at 7:05 p.m. Saturday night.
Prior to the game, senior goaltender Cody Reichard will be recognized as one of five finalists for the Hockey Humanitarian Award, given to college hockey's finest citizen. Reichard will be presented a check toward Swoop's Stoop, the foundation he founded last season, which brings sick children from Cincinnati Children's Hospital to a Miami hockey game and also sees Reichard and his teammates visit the children in the hospital at least once a month. The team also will be wearing special Swoop's Stoop jerseys Saturday, which will be auctioned off on MURedHawks.com starting Sunday with the proceeds going to Swoop's Stoop to have blankets made for the children and to help offset some medical costs endured by the families.
Following Saturday's game, fans will be able to take the ice with the RedHawks in its annual Skate with the 'Hawks Night. Fans will have 20 minutes to meet, skate and take pictures with the RedHawks at the conclusion of the game.

There will be one game program for all the hockey and basketball games this weekend. The cover features the 15 seniors from all three programs as well as the Hall of Fame inductees, and the game program includes rosters, statistics and notes on each program as well as features on the various weekend events.
Ticket pricing for the basketball games will be men's ticket prices and will get fans into both games. (BUY TICKETS HERE) Season ticket holders for either men's and/or women's basketball may attend both games with their season ticket.
