Field Hockey Drops Season Opener to Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - The Miami University field hockey team fell, 3-0, to Indiana on Friday. The RedHawks drop to 0-1, while the Hoosiers improve to 1-0 in the season opener for both teams.
Two goals by Morgan Fleetwood within five minutes proved to be the difference in this contest. With the score 2-0 entering the second half, Brenna Moeljadi scored in the 37th minute to create the final tally.
Miami was outshot by the Hoosiers, 16-4, on the day. Sarah Mueller proved to be strong in goal, making seven saves. Brittany Branco and Sid Marcum also contributed to the defensive cause, each coming up with a defensive save.
The RedHawks will open the home portion of their schedule Sunday when they welcome Northwestern to the Miami Field Hockey Turf. Game time is scheduled for noon and it will be streamed live as a free preview on the new Miami All-Access.
