Senior Team in Second at Spring Cup

MILAN, Italy--After the short program at the Spring Cup in Milan, Italy, Miami University's senior synchronized skating team sits in second place among the 10-team field. Skating first in the senior division short program event, the RedHawks posted a score of 60.51 with their program choreographed to "Bridge Over Troubled Water."
Miami, who has a clean skate with no deductions, earned a technical element score of 31.31 and a program component score of 29.20. The RedHawks, who are representing the United States at the international event, trail Sweden's Team Surprise by 4.49 points heading into Sunday's free skate event.
Miami holds a 1.66 lead over third-place Tatarstan of Russia, who earned a score of 58.85 for its short program. Rounding out the field after the short program is Hot Shivers (Italy) in fourth with a 53.09, followed by Sweet Mozart (Austria) scoring 40.53, Team Dancer (Switzerland) with a 33.54, Nova (Australia) with a 30.09, Dandelion (Italy) scoring 28.96, Shining Blades (Italy) with a 26.54 and Team Temptation (Belgium) scoring 22.21.
The RedHawks conclude their stint at the Spring Cup with Sunday's free skate competition.
