Miami scored just 4:10 into the game Friday on a goal by senior Alden Hirschfeld. It was the 11th time in 15 games this year Miami has scored first and the eighth time in the first 10 minutes of the game. The RedHawks are now 7-3-1 when scoring first this year.

With the win, Miami extended its unbeaten streak to a season-long seven games, going 5-0-2 during that stretch.

With the win, Miami improved to 7-6-2 on the year as the RedHawks are now over. 500 for the first time since improving to 2-1 with a win at Colgate Oct. 14.

Junior forward Reilly Smith scored his team-leading ninth goal of the year with just 4.5 seconds left in the opening period.

Freshman forward Blake Coleman scored two goals Friday, one in the second period and one in the third period. It was his second career multi-point game and second career multi-goal game, recording his other multi-goal and multi-point game just two games ago on Nov. 18 against Bowling Green. With four goals in his last three games, he is now tied for second on the team with five goals. He also had an assist, giving him a career-high three points in the game.

Senior forward Alden Hirschfeld scored Miami's first and third goals, including the game-winner. It was his fourth career multi-goal game but first of the season. He also finished with three points, which ties a career high, his fourth time doing so.

Miami's six goals Friday marked a season high. The previous season high was four goals, which Miami had tallied three times this year, including both games last weekend against Bowling Green. In Miami's last three games, the RedHawks have now scored 14 goals.

Freshman defenseman Ben Paulides tallied his first-career point Friday with an assist on Jimmy Mullin's power play goal in the second period.

Miami scored three goals in the second period Friday, which marked the most goals in any period this season.

Freshman forward Jimmy Mullin totaled a career-high two points Friday on a goal and an assist.

Freshmen Jimmy Mullin and Blake Coleman each scored on the power play Friday, giving Miami two power play goals (in five chances), which ties a season high. Miami's other two power play goal games were Oct. 7 vs. Bemidji State and Oct. 14 at Colgate.

Miami committed just three penalties Friday, which tied a season low. Miami also had just three penalties in the season opener Oct. 7 against Bemidji State. The RedHawks killed all three Providence power plays.

Senior goalie Connor Knapp earned the win Friday while making his first start in seven games since Oct. 28. He now has 33 wins for his career, which moves him into sole possession of seventh place in school history.
